(More customer reviews)I love this bento box. It holds a ton of food, and the elastic strap keeps the box closed to avoid spillage. The upper tier includes a plastic lid that makes it perfect for rice.
I thought the box was pretty in the picture, but it was a whole different story when I saw it in person. It's positively gorgeous! The black plastic is a perfect background for the firefly design. The fireflies are slightly raised and a sparkly gold color. The backdrop is a bit more orangey and lustrous as well. I was very impressed.
If you're looking for a traditional-style bento box, this is a great choice. Keep in mind that it's best for food that you can eat at room temperature, as the bottom tier does not seal. Very easy to clean and a great size to keep in your bag.

This classically shaped oblong bento box has a smooth black body that's illustrated with an austere accent of three golden dragonflies sailing over golden textile-inspired ground. The bento is composed of two compartments that stack on top of each other. The upper compartment seals shut with a fitted plastic lid and it doubles as a lid for the bottom compartment. The bento's illustrated lid then covers the top compartment, and an elastic band secures the two compartments together when traveling.

Kotubuki bento boxes are made in Japan of durable food-safe plastic. It measures approximately 5-3/4 by 4-1/8 by 3-1/8 inches. The top and bottom compartments are both microwave and dishwasher safe; the inner lid that covers the top compartment is not microwave safe and should be hand washed.
