I wanted a ceramic mug because I notice a distinct taste difference in coffee coming out of a stainless steel or plastic mug, as opposed to a ceramic one. My coffee tastes just like I was drinking it at home. It has a large capacity, and drinks "normally", i.e., I don't have to modify the way I sip from some odd valve. The only things you may want to consider are: 1) it isn't insulated, so the coffee will get cold just as quickly as it does out of a coffee mug at home. This doesn't seem to be a problem for me, because I waste no time in drinking my coffee....it's usually gone by the time I get to work 6 miles away! And, 2) there is no "spill-proof" cover, so if you fill it to the top, you can expect some splashing. Overall, I like my new mug a lot.
