(More customer reviews)About 6 months ago, we upgraded from an ancient GE spacemaker - might have been 10 years old. So anything was going to be better. I wanted one that had a revolving turntable to spin the food and I wanted a stronger microwave. This one delivers. But Please - take my advice and don't try all the silly "auto sensor" features. Use manual choices and you can't go wrong. If you are upgrading from a lower watt microwave, be sure to adjust and lower your "usual" cook times. I burned popcorn and Weight Watcher Smart Ones meals at first so I speak from experience. My husband has yet to understand this concept and still burns food!
I have the black color instead of the bisque which I think looks nicer and is relatively easy to keep clean. However, I wish I had stuck with bisque color instead of getting black finish for our stove and dishwasher though because keeping those clean is MUCH MORE DIFFICULT.
I like that there is two optional racks for those holiday family meals when we're heating up multiple large items.

It's simple to use and makes great movie theater-tasting popcorn in no time if you follow the directions. It also looks pretty cool on or off the cart adding a nice touch to our home theater and bar area. After reading other reviews and comments, I have to agree that the limited space inside the popper makes it a little tricky when adding popcorn and oil, but not impossible. The more you use it, the more you get used to it. A warmer to keep the popcorn warm and a vent to release the steam during popping would have been nice. I admit I was surprised by how small the kettle was, but making about 3 or 4 batches ends up being plenty of popcorn for the 2 of us and our 2 children. Again, these are small gripes and yes, there are more professional quality poppers out there with more features, but for the money we paid and ease of use, we're very happy with it! Certainly beats microwave corn! I recommend using coconut oil and adding Flavacol or some sort of commercial popcorn seasoning to the kettle when popping. Enjoy the show in the comfort of your own home!

Microwave Oven Kitchen Cart - Cherry Review

(More customer reviews)PROS: The product was boxed pretty well. No parts were scratched or damaged. The frame is a nice finish, but that's about all that is nice.
CONS: I thought the designs on the sides were squares, but they are cut outs of a steaming coffee cup. The 'wood' isn't at all dark enough to be called a cherry finish, and is coated with a thick shiny plastic. The drawer bottom is flimsy and very thin. The finished drawer looks like it will be shallow, but I can't tell yet, becuase they packed 2 right drawer sides and no left side. And the drawer pull (knob) is polished nickle, which doesn't at all match the frame.
I'm putting it together on the weekend and found out that Home Source (the seller on Amazon) only has customer service on weekdays during east coast business hours.
I'm not really happy with the product, but Amazon's return policy (not reimbursing the shipping cost on faulty product returns) is outrageous. Add to that, you have to pay to ship a faulty item back. I think I'm done with Amazon after this. Hopefully I can contact the seller or manufacturer and just get a replacement part for the faulty drawer side. Otherwise I'll just omit the drawer and call it lessoned learned for buying furniture online.

(More customer reviews)I'll start with the questions I'm asked most often when someone discovers that I am a "I am not a paper cup" owner:
- Q: Does the lid fall off?
A: The only time it has fallen off was when I took a sharp turn and the cup fell out of the cup holder which was already filled with odds and ends.
- Q: Does the lid leak around the edges?
A: No, not at all.
- Q: Does it get too hot when filled with a hot beverage?
A: Nope. Not in the slightest. The double chambered wall does the job just fine.
- Q: Does it get flavors "stuck" in it (e.g. coffee)?
A: No they do not. This is why I've long been seeking a porcelain travel mug.
Now I'll address my personal concerns when I first bought it:
- I was afraid the textured surface of the outside would gradually stain with coffee and grime that would rub off my hand, but this has not yet happened. It did take a small purple spot for a while when it got rubbed up against something, but that eventually disappeared.
- There's no air hole in the lid. This confused me to no end. Before my first use, I was constantly looking for a little hole along the lip or on the top because I was sure I had simply not seen it the last 3 times I had looked. The fact is that the lid is flexible enough to allow you to draw liquid from the cup without problem. This also limits the quantity you can take, but not significantly over the average lid of a paper cup.
- There's a rubber plug on the bottom of the cup. I was tempted to pull it out to see if I could find a prize when I realized that the plug is probably there for a reason. I read the packaging and discovered that this plug keeps liquid from entering the chamber of air between the two layers of porcelain.
I've been on a long quest for a quality ceramic mug and this guy hits the mark wonderfully. I've been recommending them to anyone who takes an interest.

(More customer reviews)I had been renting in an apartment community that went condo last year and had GE white appliances when I was renting that had no problems during my three years residing there. I bought a brand new refurbished condo in my community with new GE appliances and have had problems during the first year with some of the large kitchen appliances including this particular model microwave. After some research on line, I found similar defects reported from other individuals that bought this product. There are plastic brackets inside the handle that have melted off (and I checked all measurements from the stove and they meet specifications)and then you have holes where the brackets were. Unsafe for one and when I had GE come to service it, they offered me another door, which is course the same exact door even though I know other GE models have different doors that fit a particular model. The door is being sent to my house and I will again have to take time off for GE to install and hope that the brackets will not melt once again. I'd recommend putting your money down on a well-reputed appliance other than GE.

I use it mostly for heating up food rather than cooking it, and for popcorn, etc- fast things. I have large fingers and have no problem with the size of the "buttons" . My last one, an IntelliChef, was more expensive than this and now I wonder why I spent all that money on it ( it started smoking after 6 years of use) when this Sharp would have been fine. I just edited this review (today's date is 12/7/2009) as my original review (Nov. 2007) was written shortly after I bought it. I am glad I bought this.

Still, I think this is the best thing since microwaves. It doesn't heat up or steam up my kitchen nearly as much as a pot on the stove would, and no sticking.
Careful to leave the top of it OFF while you're microwaving. That's really not as dangerous as it sounds.

It's a shame it's not illuminated. The case looks pretty but it's mostly cheap plastic. I've already replaced 2 front trim pieces because the cheap plastic attachment's broke. It cooks pretty well, the auto programs do a decent job figuring out what's cooking or heating. Don't expect typical VIKING quality here. It says made in USA but it looks more like China built to me.

Amana : Countertop Radarange Microwave Oven Review

(More customer reviews)Bought this Amana microwave I paid about $300 and it stopped working very quickly.
It used to start by itself, so I had to retire it completely from the kitchen
to avoid any kind of accident. This is the first part of the movie.
Now the movie part II (or say Rocky II if you want).
I decided to open it and see what's inside and ¨surprise!¨ what I
found inside:
-The magnetron is Samsung
-The high voltage transformer is Samsung
-The electronic card is Samsung
-The control panel is Emerson (for me the worst cheap brand for anything).
The same microwave but Emerson cost $80.
For a comparison I thing this is like if you put a motor of a vw rabbit to
a Stingray.
-The name outside is AMANA, that's all.
I cann't fix it because the control panel is $240 and I can
get another Microwave for less than $100.
I had a cheap Sanyo microwave ($25), I thought it will last 3 months
and surprise it lasted 8 years without any problem working hard and I sold it
in good condition. Never opened it.
So my recommendation don't buy famous brand anymore, you pay for the name only..

Amana Microwave Magnetron 8205812 Review
