I just tried my Microwave Potato Chip Maker for the first time. Loves it!
You do not have to peel the potatoes. Wash scrub rinse, then dry them.
I use a paper towel in the microwave under the chip tray to help dry out the chips as they cook.
Do not add a bowl or plate to microwave if you want faster cooking times.
Add cracked sea salt, after chips are cooked. Never use iodine salt, yuuuuccck.
May take a couple of tries before you learn the exact cooking time for your chips. Too little time, then they are really wet and bendable. Too long, and they are brown and burned. Note how long you cooked a full or half batch so you know how long to cook the next full or half batch.
If you cook a half-tray, be sure to cook it at 50% of the time you would cook a full-tray, otherwise you will have burnt brown chips that taste burnt and will go into the trash.
Microwave chips don't taste the same as regular fried chips, but they are better for you.
I bet you don't eat just one... :o)
Microwave Chips are not crispy. If that is what you expect, then don't purchase this product.
If anyone complains to you that they don't taste good, with a big smile say, "good... more for me."
I just ate 2 potatoes worth and I don't feel guilty. Though I did add salt...
Microwaved Chips will not keep, so best enjoyed promptly.
