Just like GE doesn't have to pay taxes, they think they can state "stainless steel" when the kit's cover is in fact made out of the cheapest plastic GE could find. Unless the previous kit, which was made from polished aluminum metal, this one is poorly made. What's more important, the kit is 3/4" lower than the previous, so if you are looking to replace anything, you may have to redo the cabinet window opening. If you don't mind staring at a fake blob of plastic that will for sure scratch in a day or two, go ahead. Otherwise, stay away and find another microwave with a better kit to install. Preferably of another brand.
